About The Pigeon House
Created by Sara Vetser in 2016, The Pigeon House has evolved from a just-for-fun creative outlet into a multi-faceted sustainable small business that gets people excited about cultivating a low-impact wardrobe.
Pigeons are everywhere. They’re overlooked, considered ordinary, and dismissed by many. But when you look closely, they’re actually beautiful. Iridescent feathers. Unique markings. Resilience in any environment. They thrive where others wouldn’t.
This ideology mirrors our brand’s approach to fashion and sustainability. The Pigeon House sees beauty in the overlooked: the jacket in the back of your closet, the piece everyone else would discard, the garment with a stain. What others consider ordinary becomes extraordinary through attention, care, and creative intention.

About The Owner
Sara Vetser
Born out of Vetser’s disappointment with fashion’s institutional level of waste, she strives to give donated clothing and secondhand material a new life through mending, reworking, upcycling, and personalization. She also believes in the power of getting people involved in the creation of their clothing. Whether it's volunteering at repair cafés to med well-loved items or popping up at Alice and Olivia to personalize a pair of newly purchased jeans, having that interaction with your clothing is going to extend its life because you care more about it. And THAT is sustainability.
When she's not in the studio running four embroidery machines at once, you can find Sara in her vegetable garden or hiking in the Catskill Mountains.
